lj revolt?

I note in slashdot that there's a revolt going on because livejournal deleted some material.

I note that my lj bio contains a reference to morris dancing and the banned subject.

Should I be worried?

I wouldn't worry too much. First of all, mere presence of a keyword has been shown to not be sufficient for deletion.

Second of all, the Great Purge has, to all appearances, been completed.

What remains is the backlash Six Apart is having to deal with for deleting about 500 accounts pretty much on the say-so of a group of neocon nutjobs.

The funny thing is that you're one of the few people on my friend's list to even notice that something was going on.

Notice? I suppose it's reassuring to see that we get our news through geek channels rather than pedophile channels.

One of the people on my friend's list is liz_marcs. I linked to her because of some very well written political posts.

But in fact, most of what she does is write Buffy fanfiction. And this little purge hit the fanfic community pretty hard. And her journal turned into one of the rallying points.

So I've been rather bemusedly watching all-out war and indignation on the one journal, while everyone else on my list went on with life as usual.

Hmmm, another coincidence for me to ponder. Just yesterday I found it most apropos to draw a metaphor from Buffy rather than bother to explain just how silly a technical discussion had become.
