Forry Ackerman
Dec. 5th, 2008 11:20 pmI was never part of LASFS, but I had friends who were deeply involved. I photographed a wedding for a couple of them 23 years ago. As I struggled to gather enough photons around the candlelit altar I learned that the best man was Forry Ackerman.
The house of the bride and groom is still filled with a rather amazing collection of SF and fantasy objects, and I may never know how much denser the collection at the Ackermansion was. But now the Ackermansion is missing its 92-year old master.
