astroaztecDecades ago I answered Robert Heinlein's question about the phase of the moon in 2188 for The Cat Who Walks Through Walls. I asked him to call back in an hour, and I gave him the answer, and without the internet that was hard.
Today I answered Artemis' question about the phase of the moon in 1852 when Judge Roy Bean's son Joshua was murdered. That was totally easy. Shoot, you can even see that Saturn was overhead, along with the darker side of the Milky Way.
The discussion continued into flights of fancy. Artemis named the script for my flight: The Terminator. I shot back with an insight about how that movie tells the story of all of us.
That through the power of love you and your kid will change the world for good is the dream of every parent.
That something might derail that future is the nightmare of every parent.
May all our dreams come true.
