Once upon a time I worked at JPL using radio telescopes to do geodesy. I still have friends who work there, at least for the moment. The president has issued orders which have trickled down through NASA all the way to JPL. Everyone at the lab will have to conform to Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, which pretty much means giving up all forms of privacy to the federal government, even if their only involvement with the lab is to mow the lawns. JPLers have created a website to indicate how unhappy they are, and they are also protesting at the gates.
