... or maybe:
"Weirder and weirder!" cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English)

One of the women was describing the near torture of a recent mammogram. Other women were commiserating and discussing whether men would ever subject themselves to any such invention, or could. Somehow that strayed to Captain Kirk's chest, and how Picard was more of a hunk. Then the husband of one brought up Janeway, and Seven of Nine. I finally chimed in that the executive producer was in a relationship with Jeri Ryan, and that the sixth season finale was basically his metaphor for the end of that.

The wife of the guy who brought up the Trek females mentioned that they were running through the DVDs of ST:TNG with their kids, and they had just started season four, and that by the time they got to season seven they would have to interleave the episodes of DS9 in order to maintain the full continuity. That's when I said it.

"No, it started a little way through TNG season six; the star date of the first DS9 episode is 463xx. It was right after the TNG episode where Picard was naked and tortured." I got disbelief, I got arguments, I insisted. And I opined that I was going to regret repeating that star date.

I returned to the subject of that executive producer. I mentioned that he was responsible for DS9 and Voyager and the Borg movie. "Borg movie?" echoed one of their kids, and his mom's response indicated more about their internal household discussions of Trek than I really need to know.

So maybe I'm not going to regret the star date.

I continued to one more point about that executive producer. Before heading to Hollywood to join the TNG crew he attended the university where I was.

I think I was his TA in an astronomy class.
