science fair
Apr. 5th, 2007 11:26 amThe school science fair is this evening. Preparing the poster involved three consecutive nights of pushing the limits of bedtime as she typed up the labels and title pages and affixed them to the board.

Her best friend brought in something nearer to my day job (um, uh, night job?) -- an Amazon.com shipping box reconfigured with two razor blades taped together to form a slit, a CD-ROM as a diffraction grating, and a toilet paper tube as a sight -- a spectroscope. Cool, but the meadow project was what my daughter wanted to do.
The meadow project is not done, for there will be a further delve into the subject later this month when everyone in the class does a habitat study. For that I expect I will see if I can get her to classify the grass samples that we acquired, and thus read more, and write more, and express her self.
